Castle Freke Gin is crafted using two exceptional, one-of-a-kind copper stills – affectionately known as “Algy” and “Percy.” These world-class stills were meticulously hand-forged by the renowned German artisans of the family-owned Kothe. For over four decades, Kothe has crafted artisanal stills, combining traditional copper artistry with modern engineering, for premium spirits distillers around the world.
Originally engineered for the small batch production of fine brandies and other distinguished spirits, our stills are expertly adapted by Kothe to meet Castle Freke Gin’s exacting specifications. The result is a distillation process of remarkable depth and complexity, where traditional copper artistry meets precision engineering. Castle Freke Gin’s impeccable composition and refined botanical profile are made possible by the expert craftsmanship of Kothe’s stills.
